Well, what is a graffiti magazine without interviews? Exactly — nothing. Since the magazine was originally very local, the first interviews were naturally done with writers we knew personally. After a few more years in the game, we got connected with people and ’zines outside our immediate circles (some of them even abroad), which allowed us to publish a few interviews through those connections.
The old-school Finnish legends Astron (RIP) and Ray 52 were interviewed by the people behind the Helsinki Graffiti book, and we’re grateful that we were able to include that interview in Radioactive Issue 8.
We’re still considering whether we should try to conduct new interviews with some of the writers featured in the magazines, and see how they reflect on their past and how they’ve experienced the changes in the scene over the past 30+ years.
