TRAINS

In Finland hitting trains is not as popular as painting walls, but still trains are hit. Only a handful of painters do trains in Finland, and sometimes it is possible to see panels by – for instance – Swedish writers in Finnish trains.

The beginning of 1992 has been very quiet. This changed in autumn when more and more painted trains started to show again. For instance FTC gave nothing less than an end-to-end that rolled on for a great while. Also very much of panels and bombing by different writers (FTC, Yase, Mer…) was seen on the red steel. And looks like there’s a lot more to come.

OPERATION LÄNSIVÄYLÄ

One of the largest graf-operations in Espoo was the total “destruction” of Länsiväylä (one of the big highways in Finland) during the 1992.

HRC bombed the line totally in the summer. Of course they keep on painting to the line regularly, so it is hard to keep a precise number of their pieces, but they had about 20-30 pieces each at the best.

Other local writers painted a couple of pieces here and there, but if HRC painted continuously it ain’t hard to see which one drew more attention. Almost everyone who uses the western side of the line knows the big, block-lettered “HRC” at the bus-stop in Matinkylä.

Here is a little preview of the “Psycho-Holiday” summer 1992 destruction in Länsiväylä and of course more up-to-date stuff too.
