ESPOO

During the 1993/1994 the city of Espoo invested much money against the continuous vandalism in Espoo. This means that the amount of buffing increased – a lot.

It seems like the main purpose is to depress writers, and in this way to decrease the huge wave of graffiti-movement… but this only encourages writers to do more damage (throw-ups, tags, etc.) and less art (fresh burners).

The city of Espoo has to decide whether they stop buffing and let the good color-pieces stay in walls as a decoration or buff all the pieces and learn to live with the continuous daubing.

‘Cause the fact is, writers can’t be stopped!

SUBWAY-LINE

Helsinki has probably the smallest subway-system in Scandinavia, and the subways have stayed relatively clean so far (except some slight tagging), but the subway tracksides are in very active use.
